I went to the library the next day and picked up The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian. I’m gonna read the whole series again for like the millionth time. You’d think I’d own them by now,

I did call about the waitress job. I’ve been put on a waiting list Not sure how long it is, but apparently ever girl within a 100 mile radius wants to work there. Which completely sucks. It’s back to combing the classifieds I guess. Hopefully I can actually get a job soon so I can move! Living in this town is killing me.

I’m gonna answer a question from a comment left by Kelsey.

“I saw your bio said you're studying political science and you want to go to law school.. so are you gonna be a lawyer or a politician?”

I do plan to be a lawyer for quite a while and then maybe later on move into politics.

That’s it for tonight, thanks for all the comments guys. I grabbed the usual bottle of water from the fridge and proceeded to the living room to take a glance out the window. We were expecting snow for today and it had already arrived. It wasn’t much and I assumed it would melt before noon. Not wasting any time I located some jeans, a hoodie, gloves, boots, and a light blue ski jacket. I bundled up and headed for my childhood playground.

At the young age of ten the woods behind my house became my refuge. It was were I went to be alone, read, dream, and use my imagination. I spent most of my time there after school. During the warmer months it was my where I played house, school, pirates, and pretended to time travel. In the cold winter months it was somewhere I longed to be more often. Being a teacher or a pirate didn’t seem to go great with it being so cold out and snow never seemed to fit into my imagination.

In the sixth grade we started to do a lot of class reading and book reports. One of our very first assignments was to tackle the Chronicles of Narnia. We started with what became one of my most cherished stories and my winter inspiration, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Today, for the first time in 5 years, I walked through the wardrobe, also known has the back door, and into what gave me some of the best times I had as a child, my Narnia.

The Evidence

I happen to catch of a couple of premiering shows on tonight. First was Unan1mous which comes on Fox at 9:30 pm EST. Seems pretty interesting, but not sure if it’s something I’ll watch long-term. They put some people underground in a bunker. The purpose is to get everyone else there to vote for you so you can get the 1.5 million. If everyone votes the same then that person walks away with the money and everyone gets to go home. If the vote isn’t unanimous then they all have to vote to eliminate someone from the competition. They do this in an interesting way. They bring out a set of folders and each member has there own. Someone randomly picks three folders. In the folders is a secret that someone in the group doesn’t want the others to know. Now without knowing which secret belongs to who they have to decide which is worse and then that person gets eliminated. Here’s another twist, the person that gets eliminated doesn’t go home. They still get to stay and vote, but they can’t be voted for. The longer it takes to choose someone to give the money to the less they will get!

Next was The Evidence which comes on ABC at 10pm EST. This is another good crime show. I’m addicted to almost all the law and crime shows. SVU (Special Victims Unit), Law & Order, CSI (Crime Scene Investigation), Boston Legal, and any others I can find. This show is basically like all the others except they give you all the evidence in the beginning to see if you can figure it out before the detectives. Got a couple of cuties in it as well, so that helps.

Now for some real life news. Tomorrow I’m gonna call a man about a waitress job. It pays pretty well, but it’s 1.5 hrs away. Hopefully I’ll just be driving through the summer though and then I should have enough money to move closer.

That’s about it for tonight. I need to get some sleep now so nini.

Sam's Letters to Jennifer

I try to read as much as possible, but sometimes the local library makes it a little difficult. I live in a very small southern town and as you can imagine the library isn’t given much love. I think the most people I’ve seen in it at one time was three and that’s including the librarian and myself. It’s located in a small building and nestled between the police department and the court house.

The first time I ran across this book was not in the library though. I had seen it once before on the shelf at a Barnes & Noble. I remember reading the description and gently placing it back on the shelf. I thought it was going to be another love story where the woman had lost a love, moved away, found love again, and everyone lived happily ever after.

The second time I saw this book was indeed at the library. I had initially went there looking for Memoir’s of A Geisha. Well, my search failed so I asked if it had been checked out or if they just didn’t have a copy. I was informed that the book had been placed in the free box, lol. It seemed weird to me that the library was giving away free books when they were in such short supply.

Determined to not leave the library empty-handed I began searching for something interesting. The first place I checked was the new release section. I ran a quick glance across the titles and noticed Sam’s Letters to Jennifer. I quickly dismissed that book and headed to the fiction section. After being there for about an hour and finding nothing worth reading I decided to just grab the book I so quickly dismissed just so I could get out of there.

When I started reading the book I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a beautiful story about the love between a granddaughter and her grandmother. It was such a great book that I read the whole thing all in one day.

Jennifer, a columnist for the Tribune, returns to the town where she spent her childhood summers after receiving a phone call informing her that her grandmother, Sam, has become ill. During her stay she discovers letters that Sam has written her that tells her exciting life story. She also finds love with an unexpected childhood friend, but a secret that he’s been keeping throws her for a loop. It also has an unexpected ending that for me involved tears.

Sam’s Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson is worth reading.

Deja Vu

I wrote this several years ago in a time when life was uneventful for me. I am no different. At the young age of 19 I have experienced much in so little time. I have loved few, lost many, fallen in love with a couple, and shared my deepest thoughts with none, until now.

I have met many people in my life that will share their whole life with you even if they don’t really know you well. They will tell you their most embarrassing and intimate moments and think nothing about it. These types of people fascinate me and always have.

Then there are those, like myself, who have a hard time revealing who they are. For whatever reason they have chosen to keep their thoughts, secrets, and emotions silent. Or maybe it’s not a choice.

I can honestly say that I don’t believe anyone in my present life really knows me. I wish I could say differently. I’ve had some try, but I was never really sure if they were sincere.

My past is filled with mistakes. My present is consumed with anger and regret clouds my mind more often then not. As for the future, I am fearful of what lies ahead.
